New RUF Rodéo Concept, for that time you would like to drive around the world in your sports car.

That tied rope on the push bar...ewww. Im bothered by deeply functional, and frankly ugly, practicality being romantically reimagined as fashion.

Taking your sports car around the world? Haha not with those 20+” wheels and rubber band tires

Is the push bar wrapped in leather too? A
nd leather straps ‘
holding’ down the hood (bonnet) on a new car? I do like the light placement on the roof rack but can’t seem to think of a reason to have the rally lights mounted so close to & in the way of the actual headlights.

RUF’d up.
Excuse me while I go gag myself of memory seeing that.

I like the idea, but yeah I think the execution needs some help. Color scheme and (imo) tasteful use of leather is neato, but those tires are silly on an “expedition ” build and the light placement needs... some rethinking haha .

There are others that will gladly build you something more functional for far less money than this.

Matt Farah did it, and had Leh Keen of the Keen Project build it for him

Agreed. As much as I love an off-road/rally Porsche, that is simply hideous and just screams poser.

the mud/rust colored alcantara, suede, whatever they used for the push bar and the backs of the fog light buckets is just wrong.
And strapping a shovel to the engine lid, when it already has a roof rack, is dumb.
Plus, the cladding isn’t cladding, it is paint, which is going to look horrible after getting scratched, on a car that is likely so expensive, it probably won’t turn a single tire off-road in anything more strenuous than a manicured photo-shoot.
I like Porsches, and I even like some of the stuff RUF does... but this is a ridiculous show-only version of a Safari 911 which is the antithesis of being show-only.

well i like those wheels

Yeah, that looks terrible. It screams out “I’ll never use this!” a little too loudly.

Are they planning on producing new “old” cars ? Bc that would be awesome.

Even with the “rally heritage”, the Safari builds have gotten out of hand. I have a colleague who runs a noted Porsche specialist shop in LA... I knew this trend had gone over the top (he normally builds only serious, serious vintage track cars) when HE turned up at an event in a Safari 911 he’d built. It was cool but left me scratching my head.
It just feels bad to have perfectly good “correct” vintage cars being treated like... This... I guess the market wants what it wants, but it seems like a terrible waste.
I’d never take a 911 on an Overland expedition. That’s what the good lord made FJs for.

I wasn’t convinced to kill us I’ll be interior. But yeah I want it.
The wheels do need to be a goof 2-3” smaller tho

This is kinda hookie. It’s like an explensive purse made to looks like a cowboy’s saddle bag.

Seriously, we all know it’ s supposed to go the other way round.

The push bar is upholstered?
Hahaha I’m now 100% certain this is a joke. That or proof of how the rich tend to loose touch with reality

Apparently my talk to text is balls

They just neeed to be 15”s instead of 18s

Their car is basically a bespoke carbon fiber 993. So yeah

Too low, push bar is useless, wheels are to big, an around the world Adventure car this ain’t

Very good point, but I love the 959 Dakar vibes from this concept on a modern 911. And that 959 would definitely get you around the world.

Fair enough, unless you are René Metge.

Inspired by Oklahoma - ha ! (the Navajo didn’t live here, though) Pretty crazy that they met in Oklahoma City.
It’s a crime that we never get to hear the engines.
Super awkward end to the video...

I think so. I think the push bar, and the backs of the auxiliary lighting are covered in the same material used as an accent in the interior, and it looks like a dirt/rust colored, matte-finished textile or engineered material.
I could be wrong... but that is what it looks like to me.

Imagine trying to find those tires without 5 day shipping

Did they actually make a sow’s ear out of a silk purse?
